Valeria and Lorenzo made a surprising discovery. The castle had been shaken by a terrible earthquake in 1776. This event caused its abandonment, and its former glory faded over time.
The two friends were saddened by thinking about how beautiful it would have been if the castle had survived to this day in its ancient beauty.
